How long does it take for heartbreak to be over?
“Lovesickness lasts half as long as the relationship lasted,” you may have heard this saying from time to time. But let me tell you, it is absolute nonsense. After a 10-year relationship, you won't be plagued by the worst heartbreak for 5 years. Basically, there is no rule of thumb as to how long it takes for heartbreak to subside. This is because relationships are very different - so it stands to reason that breakups are also different. But if you're still in the midst of heartbreak, there's good news you need to hear: It's ending! At some point you will feel better again. Maybe not tomorrow – but at some point. Because time really does heal all wounds.
