Sudden weather changes are common in summer. It's not just particularly sensitive people who feel tired and drained and complain about sleep disorders, headaches or body aches. We want to be full of energy until late into the evening.
These 5 tips will help against summer fatigue
According to a survey by the Institute for Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University of Munich, more than half of all Germans suffer from changing weather. Sudden changes make 20 percent of those surveyed downright sick. With these tips you can prepare your body specifically for the stress in summer:
1. Eat healthy and drink plenty of fluids
Grilling is fun and puts you in a good mood. For a healthy diet, not just on changeable days, you should reduce your fat intake and include fruit, vegetables, fiber and whole grain products in your diet. Don't forget to drink at least two to three liters, especially on hot days, but stay away from too much coffee. Caffeine can lead to high blood pressure and circulatory problems. The same applies to nicotine and alcohol.
2. Sport and exercise
Regular training sessions are recommended, especially in summer. However, you shouldn't push yourself to your limits and don't jog in the midday heat. Swimming, walking and dancing are particularly good ways to keep moving.
3. Fresh air and gardening
Long walks in the park and swimming in the forest provide the fresh air kick that your body so desperately needs. Anyone who has one should work in the garden after work and will not only be rewarded with a rich harvest. Exercising in the fresh air gets your body going again and relaxes your muscles and nerves.
4. Kneipp water treatments and relaxation baths
Cold water awakens your spirits and helps with circulatory problems. A facial massage has a soothing effect on headaches and fatigue, while a knee massage specifically stimulates your circulation. Relaxation baths also help you against summer fatigue, because it's not just in winter that your muscles cramp from cold and fatigue. A warm full bath with essential oils of lavender, rosemary, ginger, lime or St. John's wort invigorate your body and gently relax it.
5. Lots of sleep and meditation
In summer you automatically stay up later in the evenings. If you don't sleep enough, you'll soon notice problems concentrating. So make sure you sleep healthy and don't put too much strain on your biorhythm. Targeted meditations and relaxation exercises help
