When it comes to the intimate area, we women are particularly sensitive and meticulous. Of course we want to keep our holy temple particularly clean and we do everything we can to achieve this. But – contrary to some expectations – less is often more! These are the 5 most common mistakes that can cause unpleasant smells - or even worse:
-
Lotion in abundance
Constantly cleaning with cleansing lotions attacks the natural pH value of your vagina. This allows bacteria and fungi to form that cause odor. Optimal: clean the genital area once a day with water and pH-neutral lotion!
-
Cleaning with “virus spinner”
If you clean your intimate area with washcloths, please always change them daily or switch to disposable washcloths. This way you don't give the bacteria a chance to multiply.
-
Irregular tampon changes
Please always be very careful here - always change tampons and panty liners regularly, otherwise not only unpleasant smells, but also nasty infections arise.
-
Use of intimate deodorants or sprays
Such gimmicks are actually not necessary. Sometimes this is where the problems arise. Perfumes contained can trigger allergies and inflammation. Sometimes a bad smell develops instead of the hoped-for freshness experience.
-
String thongs
The type of panties may be hot, but quite unflattering for your intimate area. Pathogens can be transported from the anal area towards the vagina. Synthetic fibers also promote sweating. Mushrooms in particular feel particularly comfortable in heat and humidity.
Therefore: It's better not to wear underwear that is too tight, preferably breathable AND change the underwear every day.
If you follow these tips, you will also feel YOUR vagina really comfortable again – without smelling!
